What the analyzer does

The official portal publishes the source material. PURSUE turns those public releases into a durable, searchable working library without sending your evidence to a hosted analysis service.

Preserve releases

Sync official WAR.gov PURSUE source snapshots and retain change history.

Build a local library

Download evidence into a SHA-256 content-addressed archive on your computer.

Analyze locally

Extract text and OCR, index entities, search vectors, and use local AI models.

Create dossiers

Add case notes and export portable Markdown or self-contained HTML reports.

[ Field workflow ]

From release to dossier

The normal workflow is deliberately simple. You stay in control of what is synced, downloaded, analyzed, and exported.

[01]

Install

Choose the build for your operating system and GPU, then complete the installer.

[02]

Sync

Open PURSUE and sync the current official WAR.gov release index.

[03]

Collect

Select records or source files to preserve in your local evidence library.

[04]

Analyze

Run local text extraction, OCR, search, notes, and dossier exports as needed.

[ Complete installer index ]

All production builds

Stable URLs always resolve to the current digest-verified release. GitHub retains the authoritative release history.

Download counts begin with the hub launch and represent recognized installer GET requests through this domain, not confirmed completed installations. Counts store only aggregate project, artifact, date, and total values—never IP addresses, user agents, referrers, cookies, or raw event records.

[ Installation / privacy / trust ]

Before you begin

Everything needed to choose, install, and trust the correct build—without burying the important caveats.

How do I install PURSUE on macOS?

Requires macOS 26 or newer on Apple Silicon (M-series), matching the current release build target. Open the DMG and move PURSUE to Applications. Apple may show a Gatekeeper warning until Developer ID notarization is configured; verify this domain and the SHA-256 first, then use Privacy & Security → Open Anyway if needed.

Which PURSUE installer should I use on Windows?

Requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Use CUDA for a supported NVIDIA GPU; use DirectML for AMD, Intel, other GPUs, or when unsure. SmartScreen may warn until Authenticode signing is configured; verify the hostname and checksum before choosing More info → Run anyway.

Where does PURSUE store data, and what network access does it use?

Your database, evidence library, snapshots, models, notes, and exports remain in the operating-system app-data directory. Network access is used for official source/evidence downloads, release checks, and model downloads you initiate. PURSUE does not require hosted OCR, hosted embeddings, or a paid AI API.

How do I update PURSUE, and will an update preserve my data?

Automatic updater bundles and signing are currently disabled. Download and run the latest installer for your platform; ordinary updates and reinstalls preserve the database, evidence vault, models, exports, resumable downloads, and custom-storage pointer. GitHub remains the release source of truth, and this R2 mirror publishes the same digest-verified installer bytes.

Verify the download

Compare the SHA-256 for the file you downloaded. The mirror verifies these values against GitHub before stable download links advance.
